Currently, the Rockford Park District Police department has multiple openings for certified part-time police officers.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old, hold a current Law Enforcement Certification by the state of Illinois, and live within a 50-mile radius of the Rockford Park District Police headquarters at the Webbs Norman Center, 401 S. The mission of the Rockford Park District Police Department is to help people enjoy life by deterring crime and maintaining safe parks. Rockford Park District Police patrol 179 parks and facilities, but are also stationed at more than 500 events a year. The department has been very successful in keeping parks, playgrounds, and recreational facilities safe for visitors, customers, and employees, thanks to a community-oriented policing strategy.
