Rockford Park District's Therapeutic Recreation Summer 2017 Program Guide is available free of charge at Park District Customer Service, facilities, and downloadable online at www.rockfordparkdistrict.org/tr.
The 36-page Guide contains program and activity descriptions and schedules for a variety of social, recreational, life skills, cultural arts, and fitness activities and programs for children, teens, and adults with disabilities.
Details on a variety of adapted equipment available from the Therapeutic Recreation Lending Closet are also included; an adapted golf cart is available for use with 48 hours advance notice. Inclusion services are also available, and are provided by well-trained therapeutic recreation staff who assess and provide the appropriate level of support needed by each participant to have a successful experience.
Rockford Park District is a member of the Northlands Association for Special Recreation (NASR), a cooperative partnership with Belvidere and Freeport park districts, and information about upcoming NASR activities in April, May, and July for various age groups is also included in the Guide.
