2019 Sounds of Summer Free Concert Series

Enjoy summer evenings at the Sinnissippi Park Music Shell for Rockford Park District's free Music in the Park concerts presented by MembersAlliance Credit Union, held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 pm, June 11 through August 8, 2019. These concerts are part of the Park District's Free Sounds of Summer Entertainment Series featuring local and regional talents presenting shows encompassing a wide variety of styles and genres.

This year’s Music in the Park season opens Tuesday, June 11, 2019 (rain date Wed. 6/12) with a concert by Rockford's musical ambassadors and 2008 World Champions, the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps, who will perform its 2019 program as well as favorites from past years. As this is the 30th anniversary of Regiment’s 1989 New World Symphony show, the concert will include fan favorites from that year’s production. Also joining the drum corps will be its local youth drumline, Rockford Rhythm.

Volunteers will collect a suggested $5 minimum donation from each patron at this concert and three others in the series, to help defray costs of presenting top-notch performers. Music in the Park is supported in part by the Illinois Arts Council Agency, the City of Rockford, and the Rockford Area Arts Council.
