Snow Park at Alpine Hills: Open for the Season

Rockford Park District’s Snow Park at Alpine Hills, 4402 Larson Ave., Rockford, IL offers mountains of fun in the heart of the city!

The five-acre snow park is divided into separate tubing and terrain park sections designed to accommodate riders of all abilities. On-site snowmaking equipment keeps the snow park covered with fresh snow, and the Sno-Cat machine helps maintain perfectly-groomed hills. The handy surface lift brings tubers and boarders to the top of the hill, so more time is spent riding down, and less time hiking up. Tubes are provided on site, as no outside tubes are allowed. Limited snowboarding equipment is available to rent on a first come, first served basis.

Hot and cold beverages, as well as snacks, are available at The Lodge on site, which can be rented for meetings, or the entire facility can be rented for private parties.

Lift tickets are required to participate, and range in price from $5 to $13 per person per day, depending on patron height and residency. Season passes are also available, and are on sale now for early discount prices through December 31, 2018.

A reduced admission fee of $5 per person applies for admission after 5 p.m. during regular operating hours; except for special events and school’s out days.

Regular operating hours for the snow park are: Thursdays and Fridays, 5-8 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.
