Therapeutic Recreation Summer 2019 Program Guide
Rockford Park District's Therapeutic Recreation Summer 2019 Program Guide is available free of charge at Park District Customer Service, facilities, and online.
The 32-page Guide covers offerings from April through August, 2019, including schedules and descriptions for a variety of social, recreational, life skills, cultural arts, and fitness activities/programs for children, teens, and adults with disabilities.
Registration for summer 2019 programs opens April 15, 2019 at 8:30 am. online at www.rockfordparkdistrict.org (click My RPD), and at Customer Service locations: UW Health Sports Factory in downtown Rockford, and Carlson Ice Arena in Loves Park; registration forms are also included in the Guide. Details on a variety of adapted equipment available from the Therapeutic Recreation Lending Closet are also included; an adapted golf cart is available for use with 48 hours advance notice. Inclusion services are also available, and are provided by well-trained therapeutic recreation staff who assess and provide the appropriate level of support needed by each participant to have a successful experience.
Rockford Park District is a member of the Northlands Association for Special Recreation (NASR), a cooperative partnership with Belvidere and Freeport park districts, and information about the bowling tournament planned for July, 14, 2019 for ages eight and older is shown in the Guide.
