Washington Park Community Center Programs
Weight and Cardio Rooms
Our weight and cardio rooms have all the equipment you need to stay in shape! This includes equipment for chest exercises, abdomen, upper body, legs, and thighs. We have cross-trainers, a treadmill, and a stationary bike for cardio work outs.
- Mondays - Thursdays: 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
- Fridays: 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Saturdays: 2:00 - 6:00 p.m.
The gym offers space for floor exercise, indoor walking, and recreational basketball for adults 18+.
- Mondays - Thursdays: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. ; 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
- Saturdays: 2:00 - 6:00 p.m.
Annual memberships available: $45; $30 (Resident). Memberships are renewable each August
After School Program (Grades K-5)
The youth program offers a wide range of recreational and enrichment activities geared toward various age groups. The activities include homework help, computer lab, dance, basketball, flag football, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, arts and crafts, character development, field trips, and several different recreational games. Daily snack and dinner are provided.
Tween After School Program (Grades 6–9)
The Tween After School program at WPCC offers activities designed to keep tweens engaged. While in the after school program, tweens will get to be a part of sports teams, play various gaming systems (Wii, PS3, X-BOX), play pool, ping-pong, air hockey, get homework help, play board games, go on field trips, "talk it out" groups on hot tween topics, boy and girl groups, and just chill with their friends in a safe, positive environment. Daily snack and dinner is provided.
UKUU Teen Program (grades 8-12)
The purpose of UKUU (which means greatness in Swahili) is to help teens achieve greatness in all aspects of life. This program is designed to encourage service in the community, foster leadership development, expose teens to different vocations, and promote educational excellence. UKUU teens will get to learn from speakers weekly, do community service, and take college trips and other various field trips.
All Washington Park Community Center members are invited to participate in our various sports teams, with an additional sports fee.

All practices take place on site and we compete with local community centers and other not for profit organizations.
High School Basketball at WPCC
For those looking to zone in on improving a certain skill, or to learn what it takes to succeed on the court. You will work together as a team. Each team must have their own team uniform. WPCC will provide trophies for 1st and 2nd place teams.

WPCC Youth Summer Camp (ages 5-10)
Come ready to play with our caring, well-trained staff at Washington Park Community Center. Campers will stay active all summer with friends at the community centers while enjoying indoor sports, arts and crafts, dancing, computer lab access, and video games. The fun doesn’t stop there; kids will also enjoy a ton of outdoor games such as basketball, playing on the playground, field games, water play, and the new skate program. Instructional lessons will be offered in tennis, golf, and flag football. Daily snack and lunch will be provided.
Field trips may include: Magic Waters Waterpark, Rockford Park District area pools, bowling, and Skate Co.
WPCC Tween Summer Camp (ages 11-15)
Want to get your teen out of the house and into an active, exciting, positive place? The WPCC Tween Camp is just the place! We offer sports, games, computer lab access, gaming systems, pool, air hockey, weekly field trips, and more. The staff at Washington Park will make sure your camper has a fun and safe summer they’ll never forget! Daily snack and lunch included.
Field trips may include: Magic Waters Waterpark, Rockford Park District area pools, bowling, Skate Co., and Volcano Falls.
