Park District Police Observe National Police Week
Communities across the country observe National Police Week May 10-16, 2026.
Ceremonies are held locally and nationally to honor the brave officers who made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting others.
We are incredibly grateful for the dedicated officers of the Rockford Park District Police Department, who work every day to keep our parks, facilities, programs, and events safe for everyone.

On May 15, Nicholas Conservatory was illuminated in blue in observance of Peace Officers Memorial Day. May 15th was proclaimed as National Peace Officers Memorial Day in 1962 by President Kennedy to recognize local, state, and federal law enforcement officers who lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
