Closings

All Rockford Park District facilities are closing at 5:30 pm and programs are being cancelled for the evening of Monday, July 15, 2024, due to incoming severe storms.

Additional Notes:

  • Alpine Pool and Sand Park Pool closing at 5:00 p.m.

  • The bike path north of Riverside, south of Mercyhealth Sportscore One is currently closed due to runoff and safety concerns for cyclists.

  • Portions of the bike path at Mercyhealth Sportscore One are closed due to flooding.

  • Mel Anderson Memorial Path, along Kent Creek between Talcott-Page and Lockwood parks, is closed due to flooding.

  • Lockwood Park: Public trails are closed; small playground area closed due to flooding.

  • Aldeen Golf Club & Aldeen Practice Centre are closed for the day due to course and facility conditions following weekend storms.

  • West Rock Wake Park closed due to flooding at Levings Park.

Sunday, July 14, 2024

  • Dahlquist, Churchill, Aldeen Park, Fairgrounds, Shorewood, and Martin parks closed due to flooding and/or storm damage.

Program Cancellations

Monday, July 15, 2024

  • Lockwood Park: All lessons are cancelled due to high heat, humidity, and the possibility of severe storms.

  • NFL Flag Football practices are cancelled.

  • NFL Cheer & Dance: Practice at Bloom Elementary School will be canceled due to field flooding and anticipated inclement weather.

  • FIRE Track & Field: Practice at Boylan High School will be cancelled due to field flooding and anticipated inclement weather.

  • Volleyball Grass 3's is cancelled.

  • Project Home Base news conference postponed.

  • Golf lessons at Aldeen Practice Centre cancelled.

  • Junior Series tournament round at Forest Hills Country Club cancelled due to course conditions.
