Rockford Park District and Rockford School District #205 worked together in 2026 to update specific recreational resources within Bloom Park.

The park design selected by the community features the largest playground structure of the options presented and relocated the playground closer to Bloom School, making access easier and more convenient for students. Renovations at Bloom Park also include new pathways and additional seating, improving circulation throughout the park and creating more places for students, families, and neighbors to enjoy the space. The design also includes a little extra school spirit, as the playground colors were selected to complement Bloom School's colors.
