Home Base Sports Fields in Loves Park

A brand-new home for our All Stars and Buddy Baseball programs at Darryl F. Lindberg Park has officially reached home base.

Home Base Sports Fields features two baseball diamonds with accessible playing surfaces and dugouts, along with an updated parking lot, paved paths and a pavilion. All designed for a more inclusive experience for all.

“Our goal is to create equal opportunities to play, be part of a team, and build lifelong skills,” said Kuenzi Dearth, Therapeutic Recreation Manager. “These fields are about belonging, confidence, and inclusion.”

The project was funded by a $1 million anonymous donation, a $500,000 State of Illinois grant secured by Senator Dave Syverson, $25,000 from various individual donors, and $700,000 from the Rockford Park District.
