Mercyhealth Sportscore Complexes Host Baseball For All Nationals
The 11th annual Baseball For All Nationals returns as the largest girls' baseball tournament in U.S. history, welcoming nearly 1,000 players ages 6-18 from across the United States and around the world. International teams from Australia, Brazil, Canada and South Africa will join teams from across the country for six days of competition.
Participants will also attend Women's Baseball World Cup games and meet former All-American Girls Professional Baseball League players.
"We're thrilled to be in Rockford celebrating five generations of girls and women baseball players. I can't think of a better place than Rockford for this historic week for girls and women in baseball," said Justine Siegal, founder of Baseball For All and commissioner of the Women's Pro Baseball League.
The tournament games were held Sunday, July 19 to Saturday, July 25 at MercyHealth Sportscore One, MercyHealth Sportscore Two, Boylan Catholic High School and Rockford Lutheran High School.
Over 2,900 attendees and 1,500 hotel room nights are expected for the event, bringing an estimated economic impact of $1.7 million.
"The Rockford Park District is proud to be a key collaborator in making these events possible. With three Rockford Park District sports venues in use, our team serves as the operational backbone for these events. For weeks leading up to the tournaments, our teams are preparing fields, grooming infields, maintaining turf, lining fields, setting up fencing and equipment, coordinating parking operations, preparing concessions, readying spectator areas, and ensuring every site is safe, welcoming, and tournament-ready. During the events, they continue working behind the scenes from sunrise to sunset to maintain facilities, support tournament operations, assist athletes and visitors, and keep everything running smoothly. Their dedication and professionalism are what transform exceptional facilities into exceptional experiences. It's this combination of world-class venues and experienced facility operators that continues to make Rockford and Loves Park premier destinations for national and international sporting events," said Louis Mateus, general manager of Mercyhealth Sportscore Complexes.
"We are honored and excited to welcome Women's Baseball Week and to showcase our community's rich baseball history while welcoming visitors from around the world," said Lindsay Arellano, GoRockford vice president of sales and service. "These events honor our past, inspire the next generation, and continue to strengthen Rockford's reputation as a premier sports destination."
