Rockford Football Training Camp and Girls Flag Football Clinic

Young athletes from across the region sharpened their football skills and learned from elite professional players at two free football camps organized through the Rockford Park District.

Kyle Monangai, a running back for the Chicago Bears, and U.S. Women’s National Flag Football standout Laneah Bryan were the guest coaches at the 21st Annual Rockford Football Training Camp and Girls Flag Football Clinic Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Mercyhealth Sportscore Two Indoor Sports Center.

“It’s an exciting day when we get to provide opportunities for young athletes to learn, grow, and be inspired,” said Lamont Jones, General Manager for Youth Sports and Clarence Hicks Memorial Sports Park.

“Having young athletes learn directly from professional and national-level athletes like Kyle Monangai and Laneah Bryan creates an experience that goes far beyond football skills. It gives this next generation a chance to see firsthand the discipline, hard work, teamwork, and dedication it takes to succeed at the highest level, while inspiring them to believe in their own potential both on and off the field.”

Both camps were free, and participants received a shirt, a pro player’s autograph, and giveaways thanks to support from the VanVleet Family Foundation, Chicago Bears, Winnebago County, and ICJIA.
