2023 Honorees

Dee Dee Cancelose

Dee Dee began working for the Rockford Park District after she graduated high school as she always loved being outside.  During her career, she maintained multiple public parks and facilities such as Lockwood Park, Anna Page Park, Levings Park, Atwood Park, Blackhawk Park, and Sinnissippi Park and Greenhouse.

Marianne Larson

Marianne Larson recently retired from the Rockford Park District after 38 years of service. She held several positions over the years starting out at t-ball coordinator and retiring as manager of Mercyhealth Sportscore One.


2022 Honorees

Miriam Perrone

During her time at the Park District, Miriam championed children with disabilities and worked to promote inclusion services across the park district.

Sidella Hughes

Sidella Hughes is a longtime advocate for youth and families in the Rockford area. Through her work with youth in the community and at Camaraderie Arts, she was the inspiration to the Park District expanding its summertime reach to all organizations who serve youth.

Georgalee George

Georgalee George is a seasoned golf professional that has worked tirelessly to share her passion for golf with countless youth from all walks of life in our community through Rockford Park District programs.

JoAnne Baker

Jo Baker was the first woman elected to the Rockford Park District Board of Commissioners (1973), and served as President of the Board of Commissioners from 1977 to 1981. During her time on the Board, she played a major role in many projects such as the Riverfront Museum Park, Mercyhealth Sportscore One, and the Festival of Lights at Sinnissippi Park.
