Her Time to Play

  • UW Health Sports Factory 305 South Madison Street Rockford, IL, 61104 United States (map)

Camp Dates: June 24-28, 2024

The WNBA and NBA recognize the valuable role sports can play in the development of young girls and the advancement of women as leaders in society. This national initiative is dedicated to championing change on behalf of girls and women, and aims to help all females participate fully across all sectors, giving them a forum to connect, collaborate, and actively engage with basketball and celebrate their achievements.

During the sessions, players will participate in high-level skills and drills, competitive play, and will each receive a t-shirt, various giveaway items, and a participant workbook that covers topics including bullying, body image, healthy eating/nutrition, and stress management. Information on life skills, violence prevention, and nutrition will also be included. Players must attend all four sessions.

The camp will be led by Gene Houston of Maximum Potential Basketball Training; local high school and college basketball student-athletes will serve as mentors, and local female leaders will be guest speakers each day.

This camp is free for girls ages 9-12.
