YMCA Swimming Lessons

The Rockford Park District and YMCA of Rock River Valley are partnering to better serve our communities aquatics needs by offering year-round swim lesson opportunities for families. This collaboration means the Y will begin offering lessons at Alpine Park Pool and Harkins Pool, in addition to three other locations.

The Rockford Park District believes in helping others do what they do best and in order to operate more efficiently is eliminating duplication of services. The Y has more than 110 years of experience teaching people to swim and has certified, caring instructors that are trained to guide swimmers of all abilities and all ages. They use a skill-based instruction that maximizes physical activity, emphasizes safety, and elevates character development to engage families in our community.

Swimming is truly a life skill that everyone should know to be safe. Program fee assistance is available to those who qualify.

NOTE: You don't need to be a Y member to register for swim lessons at Rockford Park District pools.

YMCA Member Pool Admission

YMCA of Rock River Valley members have FREE access to all Rockford Park District pools! To take advantage of this opportunity, members must present a VALID membership card to be scanned before entering the pool. Admission will not be granted without an active membership.
