National Girls and Women in Sports Day

Today is National Girls and Women in Sports Day today but we have been celebrating all year long the fact that female high school athletes locally no longer have to be sidelined.

We met lots of inspiring and fearless females this past year and they will forever be known as the first females to take the field as part of the Northern Illinois Girls Flag Football League which is run by the Rockford Park District and sponsored by the Chicago Bears, Nike, and Buffalo Wild Wings.

These females made history and are now empowering future generations of to play flag football.
