⛸️ Public Skate

Public skate provides a great opportunity for the whole family to get out on the ice together. The music rocks and the mood is friendly, so come out and join the fun! Public Skate is available on spring break March 24 through March 28, 2025, 11:00 am to 12:50 pm.

⛸️ Frosty Fridays

Join us for a fun Friday night of ice skating with music by a DJ at Carlson Ice Arena March 28, 2025, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

πŸ’ Spring Break Hockey Camp

This camp will cover the A-Z of hockey. We will be working on skating, puck control, shooting, and passing. Camp will be held March 24 through March 28, 2025, 9:00 am to 11:00 am.


πŸ€ Drop-in Sports

Stay active with healthy exercise by walking laps, or playing basketball, pickleball, or volleyball at UW Health Sports Factory. Drop-in programs are offered on spring break March 24 through March 28, 2025, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.


🏌️ Indoor Golf

The indoor golf practice center at the Indoor Sports Center Mercyhealth Sportscore Two will be open over spring break from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday, March 24, 2025; and from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm March 25, March 26, March 27, and March 28, 2025.

🐴 School’s Day Out: Have a Hay Day!

Join us for outdoor games (weather permitting), crafts, animal interactions, and a movie! Hands-on lessons will include interaction with horses, ponies, or other farm animals. Program is offered March 25, March 26, and March 27, 2025.


🎨 Joy of Painting with Ponies

Experience the "Joy of Painting with Ponies" Friday, March 28, 2025, 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm, at Perks Family Equine Center at Lockwood Park. You will be your own artist, deciding what you paint on your canvas while watching a group of the park's horses frolicking around inside The Blazer Foundation Therapeutic Riding Arena. You will be supplied with canvas, paint, and brushes, along with a "surprise artist" to inspire your painted creation. This exciting activity is open to anyone; children under 14 will need a parent or guardian to participate alongside them.

Explore the wild, wonderful, and often strange world of butterflies and moths at Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens! See the whole lepidoptera lifecycle in action as caterpillars munch on leaves, butterflies emerge from their chrysalis, and moths from their cocoons. Get an up-close look at these amazing insects in the butterfly house as you’re surrounded by native and exotic butterflies.

The Secret Life of Butterflies exhibit opens Saturday, March 22, 2025, and is presented by Xfinity.

Advance ticketing is highly recommended - we cannot guarantee availability for walk-in guests, especially on weekends. Many weekday mornings we have pre-booked field trips. These time slots are not available for sale.

Atwood Center is open FREE to the public every Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Join us for a birds of prey feeding at 1:00 pm.

The FREE Birds of Prey exhibit is unique to the northern Illinois/southern Wisconsin area. This captivating exhibit features up-close views of raptors, and is one of the few accessible treehouses in Illinois.
